You KNOW how much we like to support causes that are close to our hearts (and yours), in the pst we have designed products to raise funds for BLM but for this next project, we wanted to bring the focus closer to home this year by supporting the re-vitalisation of one of the most significant lake/wetlands eco-systems in Te-Ika-a-Māui (the North Island).
The Whakakī lake and surrounding area needs help and we are going to be dedicating our fundraising efforts towards supporting it's restoration.
In order to achieve this, we have connected with a young man with very BIG plans!
Trevor Waikawa has been running weekend Wānanga dedicated to the planting of Native Trees and plantlife around the lake. The larger plan
During these planting weekends volunteers will not only be able to be hands on with this important planting work but Trevor will be passing on ancestral and environmental knowlege regarding the lake and surrounding eco-systems.
The goal is to purchase 1000 native trees for planting at the next Wānanga and we need your help to do this. Each native tree costs approximately $5 to purchase.
So we invite you to join us on this journey to restoring the mana and the mauri of Whakakī and its ability to provide for this and future generations.
Give what you can and we will keep you updated with our collective efforts!
